The proposed new collective investment scheme in Switzerland: the L-QIF

On 9 June 2021, the States Council (Senate) adopted unanimously the proposed bill aimed at introducing into Swiss legislation on collective investment schemes (CISA) a type of fund strictly reserved for qualified investors (the “Limited Qualified Investor Fund” or “L-QIF”) exempted from authorization or approval from the FINMA. Some amendments have however been made to the Federal Council’s initial draft.
